Insulation Installment Types
Closed Cell Foam

Closed cell foam is denser than open cell, with minimal to no air pockets – the structure of the cells are much more compact. Like open cell, it too adheres to virtually and material and fills every space, no matter how irregular that space is. The cured product provides a certified air barrier, dampens sound, and saves energy. In addition, because of its density, it repels water, which makes it ideal for insulating and waterproofing foundations.

Uses include:

Basements & foundations

All below-grade applications

Walls, floors, ceilings, attics

Whole room, or whole structure

Fiberglass Insulation

Fiberglass consists of extremely fine glass fibers and is one of the most ubiquitous insulation materials. It’s commonly used in many different forms of insulation: blanket (batts and rolls), loose-fill, and is also available as rigid boards and duct insulation. Fiberglass insulation is made from molten glass that is spun or blown into fibers. Most manufacturers use up tp 40% to 60% recycled glass content.

Basements & foundations

Walls, floors, ceilings, attics

Whole room, or whole structure

The Facts on Spray Foam Insulation

New Construction architects and existing home or commercial building owners have come to rely on spray foam insulation to reduce energy costs, control moisture, and improve indoor air quality and air infiltration. The facts don’t lie. Extensive research has shown that spray foam insulation out-performs traditional fiberglass insulation in every instance. It lasts longer, insulates better, and is generally more cost-effective – by orders of magnitude.

Immediate Benefits

Spray foam insulation lowers energy costs. It yields a higher R-value than traditional batt insulation for the same thickness, meaning it resists more loss of heat – the higher the R-value, the more heat you keep inside your structure.

Spray foam insulation creates an effective air barrier. It fills even the smallest cavities, thereby blocking airflow through cracks of every kind, thereby making it the best choice to stop everything from dust to pollen.

Spray foam insulation creates a moisture barrier. When applied to foundation walls (closed cell foam only) it also creates a strong moisture barrier, which helps keep those parts of your structure below grade dry as well as air-tight.

Spray foam insulation stops mold and mildew. When applied to foundation walls (closed cell foam only) or any above-grade wall (closed and open cell) it also creates a zero mold and mildew barrier.
